Green Belt Training, Mentoring and Certification

The Green Belt training and certification program consists of ongoing mentoring and two 4 1/2-day group training sessions spaced approximately four weeks apart. Prior to the first session, your candidate receives tools, templates and guidance on defining a problem within your organization. This is followed by training on Six Sigma tools and cross-functional teambuilding.

In the weeks between sessions, a mentor coaches your candidate in applying Six Sigma tools and skills to his or her project. The mentor remains in constant contact, answering questions and providing encouragement.

During the second 4 1/2-day session, participants report on their progress, share experiences and undergo advanced training on Six Sigma methods. They return to the field, where under continued guidance from their mentor, they bring their projects to completion.

Once the project is completed, your candidate presents a report to your management and the ValuMetrix/Johnson & Johnson Process Excellence Training team. If the project passes review, your candidate receives certification. Your organization has achieved lasting quality improvement in a specific area. It has also acquired a champion who can lead the same process in other departments.

What participants say about ValuMetrix Services Six Sigma Green Belt Training

“You're not reading about a project that someone else did. You're taking the tools and applying them in your own environment. To me that's more meaningful because as you're going through that process, you’re thinking, ‘I know where I could use this,’ or ‘I know what my next project is going to be.’”

Carol Hill, MT (ASCP), CLS
Ed/Quality/Compliance Coordinator
Fairview Laboratory Services, Minneapolis, MN

“In terms of continually developing your laboratory or your organization, this is probably one of the smartest ways to go. It lets you enhance your value, make a difference and learn managerial skills all at the same time.”
